Teamwork makes the dream work. One of my favorite phrases heard in the halls of ClearSlide is usually expressed with full awareness of its kitsch. What lies at the heart of it, though, is a palpable esprit de corps. Walking through any of our offices across the country, you can feel the same sense of unity and partnership — employees working across teams to reach our common goals.

One of our practices that demonstrates a commitment to this synergistic value is the Win Alert announcement. When a member of our sales team closes a deal, their manager sends a company-wide email, an electronic trumpeting of sorts, outlining the exciting details. This memorandum not only features the sales person who owned the effort, but it also includes the names and contributions of ‘Sliders across the organization who worked to get the deal done from soup to nuts. This custom reinforces that we all must work in concert to be successful — Sales, Client Services, Sales Operations, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance and People Operations. We all have a part to play in producing the work essential to building an award-winning product. We are on the journey together.

With a fully aligned strategy across all areas of our organization, the natural course of action when it comes to recognizing excellence is to be inclusive. Traditionally, a company may reward their top sellers with entrance into a President’s or Excellence Club. At ClearSlide, our leaders have taken this slice of sales culture and expanded it to recognize the top tier of every department in order to demonstrate that we truly do win and celebrate success as a team.

Shared wins lead to heart-felt expressions of gratitude for one another. At the end of our all-hands meetings, team members have an opportunity to publicly recognize a colleague or group of colleagues for their efforts. These “shout outs” often highlight collaborative moments where an employee went above and beyond the call of duty for the sake of the team. Each of us knows the importance of collaboration — teamwork is at the heart of how we operate and the key to our collective integrity.
